What is a Christian Boarding School?

Christian boarding schools offer the opportunity for your child, adolescent, or young adult to both attend school and live there full-time. Some schools offer a 5-day week, and others are a full 7 days.

Christian boarding schools (CBS) are private schools which means they are not state-funded.

Parents are typically responsible for paying for their child’s tuition and room and board. Some schools are non-profit. Often, schools provide scholarships or offer financial aid. Some schools accept donations and can reduce fees from these.

A CBS helps you work with your insurance to get coverage for some of the cost of medical or mental health care at the school.

The majority of CBS are therapeutic boarding schools that helps children with mental health, addictions, or behavioral issues. Check out our guide on therapeutic boarding schools and how to choose the best one for your youth to make sure you know what to look for when examining each of these schools to see if they are the right fit for your child.

The schools on this list are designated as Christian because they teach or were founded on Bible principles. Students do not need to be Christian.
