Devereux New York in Red Hook
Devereux New York provides educational, clinical, residential and community-based programs and services for children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences, and dual diagnoses.
The residential and day school is for children and adolescents – ages five to 21 – with behavioral healthcare needs. Students with IEPs are welcome.
The residential programs serve nearly 100 youth, ages five to 21, with intellectual or developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders (ASD), emotional and behavioral differences or multiple disabilities.

Fencliff Manor in Ardsley
The School for Adaptive and Integrative Learning (SAIL) at Ferncliff Manor, Inc. is a New York State Education Department approved private, nonpublic school program serving residential and day students with severe intellectual and developmental disabilities.
SAIL provides support and services including specialized instruction, intensive staff to student ratios, positive behavior interventions and supports, social services, rehabilitative therapies (Speech, Occupational, and Physical), dietary programming, and living accommodations for children who require specialized and medical care.
With enrollment of 70 residential and day students serves school-aged students from 5 to 21 years of age, most of whom present with an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis among other concurrent disabilities.

Harmony Heights in Oyster Bay
Harmony Heights is a therapeutic day school Located in Oyster Bay, New York. It was established in 1974, and has been providing education for 48 years. Harmony Heights can accommodate 75 girls in grades 8-12 who live in the New York metropolitan area including Nassau, Suffolk and New York City, Westchester, Rockland, Duchess and Putnam counties.
Students are referred to Harmony Heights by their school district. Students are young women who suffer from depression, anxiety disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and mood disorders. Many of the students have been hospitalized prior to admission to Harmony Heights. Harmony Heights will also give consideration to students with Aspergers Syndrome as well as girls with a diagnosis of Pervasive Development Disorder (PDD).
Harmony Heights does not admit girls who are physically aggressive, or are diagnosed with a Conduct Disorder or are drug dependent.

Springbrook in Oneonta
The School at Springbrook has a variety of opportunities for people of all ages (toddler to adult) with special needs/developmental disabilities, including both a day education and a residential education program. Additionally, they offer support for residents in their Community Homes program.
A subsidiary of Springbook, The Golisano Center for Autism, provides programs for children with a primary diagnosis of autism.

Students commonly have histories of psychiatric hospitalizations and school avoidance. The Summit School at Nyack provides a supervised therapeutic environment as well as a more typical adolescent experience than a hospital setting.
Students must be able to participate meaningfully and safely within the academic, recreational, residential and clinical aspects of the program.

The Center for Discovery in Harris
The Center for Discovery in Harris provides care and treatment for both children and adults with complex disabilities, medical frailties, and Autism Spectrum disorders. They offer pediatric educational and residential treatment, as well as adult vocational and residential treatment. In both the pediatric and adult programs, the school receives referrals for day and pediatric residential programs from school districts, physicians’ offices, families, service providers, and more.
Funding for services at The Center comes from a variety of sources including the New York State Education Department (NYSED), the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), and private payment contracts.
In addition to curriculum based education, they offer comprehensive programs like “Food, Farming and Nourishment Arts,” “Technology and Innovation,” and “The Integrated Arts.'”

The Charlton School in Burnt Hills
The Charlton School in Burnt Hills is a not-for-profit residential treatment center and special education school for girls in 8th to 12th grade. They work with students who are struggling with anxiety or school refusal, are fragile, guarded, or withdrawn, are lacking self-esteem, motivation, or social skills, are depressed, bipolar, or on the high end of the autistic spectrum, or struggling with relationship or identity issues.
The school has a maximum capacity of twenty-five residential students and thirty-eight students in Ketchum Grande Memorial School which includes day students from local school districts.
Additionally, their Equine Program is a major part of every student’s individualized treatment plan.

The Summit School in Jamaica Estates and Flushing
The Summit School serves over 275 students in grades 3-12 who come from all five boroughs of New York City, as well as Nassau County, Suffolk County, and Westchester County. Students are diagnosed with specific learning disabilities and/or emotional challenges.
They serve children who are sponsored by local school districts in New York City, Nassau County, Suffolk County, and Westchester County.
Students benefit from an individualized program in small settings. Each class is comprised of 12 students, one teacher with a Master’s degree in special education and/or a subject area, one assistant teacher, and additional assistant teachers as needed.
Additionally, certified clinical staff of speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, psychologists, as well as reading specialists works with students individually and in small groups to maximize student success.
Funding to hold a student’s placement can be held only by either a signed contract or prior approval of funding from the New York City Department of Education or local school district.

Wildwood School in Schenectady
Wildwood School is a non-profit, private school approved by the New York State Education Department that is certified to educate students ages 5-21. The school consists of four program levels: Elementary, Intermediate, High School, and Young Adult.
The school provides a complete educational program where students are prepared to be as independent as possible. Students are taught academic, social, employment, and functional skills that coincide with their Individual Educational Plan (IEP), needs and interests. Each classroom has one teacher and up to 5 teaching assistants depending on the number of students.
